We believe in the transformative power of women. We recognize that women have been at the forefront of managing their households and communities, especially when it comes to energy resources. We also acknowledge that they have been disproportionately affected by energy poverty and limited access to reliable power sources. This is why we have introduced our “SHE” program – Solar and Her Empowerment.
SHE is more than just a program; it’s a movement aimed at bringing about lasting change. It is designed to empower women in rural and off-grid areas by providing them with the skills and knowledge needed to become solar entrepreneurs and community leaders. Through SHE, we aim to address both the energy challenges faced by these communities and the gender disparities that exist in the energy sector.
Project SUNRISE: Supporting Underserved Rural Farmers, through Innovations in Solar Energy
Rural women, constituting 51% of the workforce, play a crucial role in family sustenance and agriculture. They contribute significantly, comprising 94% of the agricultural labor, and produce 80% of household food. Despite sharing farming responsibilities, women dedicate nine hours daily compared to men’s five hours. Recognizing the need for reliable energy to support agriculture, our initiative “SUNRISE” combines solar power with farming.
This programs aims to empower women farmers by granting them access to clean energy products and tools that enhance productivity, increase income, reduce costs, and foster environmental sustainability.
