Village Solar Volunteer Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Village Solar! By volunteering with us, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully to understand your rights and responsibilities as a volunteer. 

Introduction

Village Solar is committed to creating a positive and meaningful experience for all volunteers. These terms outline the expectations and requirements for participation in our volunteer programs.

Eligibility

To volunteer with Village Solar, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old (or have parental/guardian consent if under 18).
  • Complete the application process and provide accurate information.
  • Agree to abide by the policies and guidelines of Village Solar.

Role and Responsibilities

As a volunteer, you agree to:

  • Perform your duties as outlined in your volunteer role description.

  • Follow instructions from Village Solar staff and team leaders.

  • Act respectfully and professionally when interacting with community members, other volunteers, and staff.

  • Maintain confidentiality of any sensitive information you may encounter.

Health and Safety

Your safety is our priority. As a volunteer, you:

  • Must inform Village Solar of any medical conditions or special needs that may affect your ability to perform your duties.

  • Are responsible for your own health and well-being during your volunteer activities.

  • Agree to adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols provided by Village Solar.

Code of Conduct

Volunteers must:

  • Treat everyone with respect and dignity, regardless of their background, gender, or beliefs.

  • Avoid engaging in any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior.

  • Refrain from using Village Solar resources or activities for personal gain.

  • Promptly report any issues or concerns to Village Solar staff.

Confidentiality

Volunteers may have access to sensitive information during their service. You agree to:

  • Keep all confidential information private and secure.

  • Not disclose or use such information for personal purposes or outside of Village Solar activities.

Time Commitment

We value your time and understand other commitments. Volunteers should:

  • Adhere to the agreed schedule and inform Village Solar in advance if unable to attend.

  • Notify us as soon as possible if you wish to end your volunteer service.

Reimbursement

Volunteering is unpaid. However, Village Solar may:

  • Reimburse pre-approved expenses related to your volunteer activities upon submission of valid receipts.

  • Provide resources and support necessary for your volunteer role.

Termination

Village Solar reserves the right to terminate your volunteer agreement if:

  • You fail to adhere to these terms and conditions.

  • Your actions conflict with the mission, vision, or values of Village Solar.

Media and Publicity

By volunteering with Village Solar, you agree that:

  • Photographs, videos, or recordings taken during your participation may be used by Village Solar for promotional purposes.

  • You can opt out of media use by notifying Village Solar in writing before starting your service.

Acknowledgment

By agreeing to volunteer with Village Solar, you acknowledge that:

  • You are participating voluntarily and without expectation of financial compensation.

  • You understand and agree to the terms and conditions outlined above.
